The Technology
As a hosted multi client solution ISX is able to provide a highly available secure monitoring system accessible from multiple locations.

Reliable Platform
The system operates as a client server solution, based on industry standard core technologies. For resilience the system is operated simultaneously at two independent data centre locations, in a master and slave configuration.

Offering the service in this way also provides further benefit that the entire network infrastructure is provided by a large mesh of operators, making it a highly resilient solution.

Easy Installation of loggers
A major barrier to remote monitoring is the cost of installation. To minimise this cost ISX uses battery operated, licence exempt low power radio probes to collect data every five minutes and transmit it back to an on site collection device, the Logger.

The Logger, located at each site, collates and relays the real-time data back to the Optimal ISX Management Platform where it is processed and presented via a secure web interface.

Communication with the hosted data centre can take many forms, depending on the particular needs of the customer. Communications options include:

Mobile GPRS
Telemetry satellite communications
Local Ethernet network point
WiFi (802.11x) network access point
Dial-up internet access via telephone or analogue extension

In addition to web access to the data, the system can be configured to automatically export data for use in third party systems if required.
